How drinking a lot of water benefits your hair


You’ve probably heard countless times how drinking a lot of water is beneficial to the body and that the body is made up of an average of 60% of water. This is to tell you how you should make drinking a lot water part of your daily life. Many of studies have stated that we need at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day for a healthy life style and for the body to perform its best.

Drinking of water has a lot of benefits and also does magic to the overall health of your hair.

Benefits to hair

  • When you are dehydrated, your body has less fluid or water and it affects the health of your hair. Your hair becomes weak, frizzy and prone to breakage. Less water in your body also causes your hair to lack volume and shine. Now you know why upon all the products you use, your hair faces all these problems. Make drinking of water a habit. when you do this, the products you use in your hair will work even better.

Someone might say, but i drink a lot of water. Yeah that might be true, but what is a lot of what to you. Don’t expect one or two glasses of water to work magic for your hair. I know how sometimes we are so busy that the day goes by and we realize we haven’t even sipped a drop of water, ouch too bad. Making drink of water a consistent habit can be a bit difficult to incorporate in our daily routine.

Here are some of the things you can do to make drinking water fun and a habit.

  • Drink from a bottle


I don’t remember the last time a drunk water from a glass, unless i’m eating out or probably forgot to carry my bottle along with me. I have a couple of bottles I use for drinking. This makes it easier to track my water intake and motivates me to drink more. Getting yourself a water bottle will help you make sure you are getting the recommended amount of water everyday. Some of the bottles comes with measurements.

  • Drink water first thing in the morning


First thing you want to do in the morning when you are out off bed is to grab some water. I noticed whenever I do that I feel energized and fresh. Do this before eating anything else.

  • Eat a lot of water rich fruits


Did you know that most fruits contain a lot of water? If you find it difficult to make drinking a lot of water, then you can add some fruits to your diet. Fruits like water melons, oranges, pineapples, plum, peach, grapefruit have great amount of water in them. You can blend your fruits into a juice or eat it as it is. Another thing is you get extra nutrients from consumption of the fruits as well.

  • Add flavors


Infusing some flavors into your drinking water can be fun. You can add some berries or fruits and herbs. Strawberries, Lime or lemon, mint leaves, cucumber, Pineapple and just a few to mention. These are also packed with a whole lot of healthy benefits.
